What Kids Are Reading

It seems like every year Lent sneaks ups on me. I know it’s coming, yet I still find myself scrambling at the last minute to find something to read and to think of something meaningful to do or not do.  Not this year. This year I think I’ve got a game plan – or at least the beginnings of one.

My children on the other hand, are a different story.  I realized the profound shallowness of one of my chidren’s Lenten preparation when I heard her say, “I’m glad it’s almost Lent, I need to get in shape.”  It dawned on me then that I wasn’t the only one in the family who needed to prepare in order to prepare for the resurrection of our Lord. So, to help my children get beyond just giving up sweets (and shedding a few lbs) I’ve compiled a list of ideas for teenagers…
